Mt Fuji's lakes, falls, and forests

There is so much more to do in the Fuji region besides climbing the mountain. Explore the
mysterious Aokigahara forest, hike the old Tokaido road, visit shops and museums, attend festivals,
and eat in the communities that literally live in the shadow of the mountain.

Bring your bike and go around the mountain, bring your caving gear and head under the lava and
inside the casts of ancient trees, or bring your fishing gear and hang out by the lakes.

One of the great museums is the Susono Municipal Mt. Fuji Museum with nature
trails, a cafe, and exhibits and dioramas on the geology of the congolmerate of
volcanoes piled one on top of the other that make Mt. Fuji reach to the sky.
